Since September 2018, collective.ruhr in Essen has offered coworking space on approximately 800m² and space for 70 freelancers and employees from a wide range of industries.
The idea behind collective.ruhr is to create a network of freelancers, companies, and creatives from various corners of the region, thereby building a vibrant and productive community. In addition to working together, concerts from the “Overtime Sessions” series and exhibitions are an integral part of collective.ruhr.
A special highlight: the 60m² roof terrace with plenty of space to relax and socialize during your lunch break and after work.
A well-thought-out mix of open-plan workstations, private offices, and meeting rooms, along with a cozy lounge area, creates the perfect atmosphere for working and networking at collective.ruhr. The large communal kitchen with adjoining roof terrace and BBQ grill also invites all members as well as customers, friends, and partners of the collective to linger and get to know each other.
In the offices you can work alone or with up to four of your colleagues. In the open space you have the choice: either a fixed desk or a hot desk. A permanent workplace with a sense of home or a flexible workplace with variety.

In addition to working together, we regularly host concerts from the "Overtime Sessions" series, BBQ evenings on our rooftop terrace, and exhibitions in our coworking space.
Currently, the coworking space features works by Heiner Szamida from the Halfmannshof artists' colony in Gelsenkirchen, Gabriele Hüsgen's Essen-based artist gallery "dieserart," and Rotterdam-based artist Justin Ghijsen.
The first concert in the "Overtime Sessions" series was given by the Swiss band "Black Sea Dahu" in September. More concerts to follow... -
